Our minimum visit duration is 1.5 hours, ensuring that all tasks can be completed during the time together. Over time, the helper becomes an essential support in everyday life.

Keeping the Family Updated

A core principle of Hemby is keeping families informed about how things are going. You receive updates from the helper and your loved one directly on your phone, so you always know how the visit went and how your relative is doing.

Example of a Typical Daily Routine

At the start of the visit, we always ask about the general well-being of the senior, how they have been feeling in the past few days, and discuss what tasks or activities are planned for the day.

We start together with various tasks, such as changing the bed linens, unloading the dishwasher, and going shopping. During this, we ensure social interaction and as much physical activity for the seniors as possible.

Once we are back from shopping, we warm up a meal and play a round of cards.

Usually, everyday household tasks can be completed during a visit. Our goal is to relieve family members as much as possible, so they can spend more time with their loved ones without the burden of additional household chores.

The First Visit

The primary goal of our first visit is to build a trusting relationship and gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s individual situation and needs at home.

Based on this, we develop a tailored care plan designed specifically to meet those needs. We place great importance on creating a personalized care plan for each customer and aligning our activities with their preferences and routines.

What Does Home Care Cost?

Our hourly base rate is £31 plus fixed travel fee of £6 per visit. Minimum visit 1.5h.

  • Saturdays and Sundays: hourly base rate +25%

  • Bank Holidays: hourly base rate +50%

All prices VAT 0%, no VAT is added to the price as our services for the elderly are VAT exempt.
